High School PET from Wakeedu - Teaching Chess Basics
High School PET from Wakeedu, a tribal village about 20 kms from Eturnagaram, Rajyalaxmi garu taught chess basics to children. She traveled more than 100 kms to participate in the recent chess tournament conducted by Chess Network, exclusively for girls and women in Hanamkonda, during the Bathukamma celebration — the most popular festival in Telangana, which holds unique significance and meaning for women.
On her request, Chess Network furnished 10 boards donated by ‘Gift of Chess’, a New York-based nonprofit organization committed to distributing over a million chess boards globally.
By connecting with passionate chess enthusiasts like Rajyalaxmi garu, Chess Network is bringing chess to the remote corners of Telangana, igniting many young minds who were previously not exposed to this game.
